Why can’t I add the Recycle Bin to a Portal?

The Recycle Bin is a special icon type, it is not a normal file/folder, so it cannot be moved to a portal. Do Portal folders have to be on the Desktop?

No! You can create your folders for your Portals in whatever location you like. (Or use existing folders). For example, you could create the following folder:C:\Users\<username>\Documents\PortalFolders Then in that folder you could create folders e.g.GamesApplicationsetc. Then create Portals from those folders – this way your desktop remains clean!

Can I create a Portal without a folder?

No. You can create a Portal from any existing folder, or create a new folder. Portals cannot be created without any folder at all since the folder is what the Portal displays the contents of.

Can I make a Portal transparent?

Yes! There is a transparency slider as part of the colour picker: NOTE:Setting transparency to 0 will make the window non-clickable. This is a Microsoft Windows limitation unfortunately, you can set to 1 to get the most transparency possible without the window becoming un-clickable.
